- T — Tight. The sling or carrier you use should be tight enough to keep your baby close to you.
- I — In view at all times. You should be able to see your baby’s face by glancing down and without having to move the fabric.
- C — Close enough to kiss.
- K — Keep chin off chest.
- S — Supported back.
When can you start wearing your baby?
If your baby is born without any health complications and is around 8lbs, you may begin wearing a baby safely and securely in a wrap carrier. The “Newborn Hug Hold” position is a perfect way to begin babywearing with a newborn, because of the natural curvature of their body.

You have to figure out where the seat is, wiggle the baby up a bit in the carrier, unbutton and unzip, and sit down. (Before you sit, be sure your straps are bound up/shortened or tucked in within the carrier so there is NO chance the dangling straps get dunked in the toilet water.)
