I Support This Forum as a Gold Member! The 661 is a great saw. Modern AV, excellent filtration, plenty of grunt in stock form. The choice is pretty clear in my mind.
What’s the difference between a 661 and a 660?
The 661 is smoother, uses less fuel, and as the bar gets longer, it dont really notice. huskyboy, Normzilla, jacob j. and 8 others like this. 661 has a metric sh*t ton more torque than the 660. Which is why it does so much better on the 36″ bar. Which would be good for the hard wood down under.

How bad is the air filter on a 661?
My budy has a 661. The air filter is just as bad as the 461. Probably the 660 filter can not be much worse. Unfortunately, I know none of the 660 still has.
