How does HT12D work?

By using the paired HT12E encoder and HT12D decoder we can transmit 12 bits of parallel data serially. HT12D simply converts serial data to its input (may be received through RF receiver) to 12 bit parallel data. These 12 bit parallel data is divided in to 8 address bits and 4 data bits.

What is VT in HT12D?

Pin 17. CMOS OUT. Pin 17 is an indication pin for data. This pin is known as the VT pin which means valid transmission. Pin18 will go high to indicate that the data has received.

What is HT12E encoder IC?

HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit of 212 series of encoders. They are paired with 212 series of decoders for use in remote control system applications. It is mainly used in interfacing RF and infrared circuits. The chosen pair of encoder/decoder should have same number of addresses and data format.

How does IC encoder work?

Encoders are digital ICs used for encoding. By encoding, we mean generating a digital binary code for every input. An Encoder IC generally consists of an Enable pin which is usually set high to indicate the working.

What is encoder IC?

An encoder IC is manufactured to encode digital data from one format type or code to another that can accept multiple inputs and generate multi-bit output. Their primary functions are speed, security, standardisation by shrinking the size.

How does RF transmitter and receiver work?

The RF transmitter receives serial data and transmits it wirelessly through through its RF antenna. The transmission occurs at the rate of 1 Kbps – 10 Kbps. RF receiver receives the transmitted data and it is operating at the same frequency as that of the transmitter.

What is an encoder circuit?

An Encoder is a combinational circuit that performs the reverse operation of Decoder. It has maximum of 2n input lines and ‘n’ output lines. It will produce a binary code equivalent to the input, which is active High. Therefore, the encoder encodes 2n input lines with ‘n’ bits.

What is the function of encoder?

Simply put, an encoder is a sensing device that provides feedback. Encoders convert motion to an electrical signal that can be read by some type of control device in a motion control system, such as a counter or PLC. The encoder sends a feedback signal that can be used to determine position, count, speed, or direction.

What is the role of Enable pin in decoder IC?

In general, enable pin in multiplexers, de multiplexer, decoder and encoder ensures the functioning of the hardware ie “enables” the function of the logic circuit.
