Sony has been a company which has been around the markets of consumer and hardware technology for quite a long time. Known for their precision as well as their household devices, one thing that Sony is particularly famous for, but does not fall in the above mentioned category is that of the PlayStation. The Sony PlayStation is an apex device produced by the company which is one of the biggest forces in the markets of gaming. To add more muscle to the existing PlayStation setup, Sony’s PS4 users will now be getting an added advantage as Sony releases the PlayStation VR device in the month of October.
The company has officially announced the device 3 days ago, and it has been priced in at a price which can be termed ‘affordable’ when one compares it to the other VR devices, and ‘cheap’ when one looks at the fact that it comes with no hidden costs.
Hidden costs, as in, when one looks at the other VR devices such as Oculus and HTC Vive, one also needs a high-end gaming PC to run these VR devices. These PCs itself cost some $1000-1500 to assemble and most gamers can not afford that. However, when it comes to the PlayStation VR, not only are there 40 million existing PS4 devices, but also, the most that a person needs to spend on the PS VR is an additional $45, which some gamers might need to purchase a PlayStation Camera.
The device has been announced to release in the month of October this year, and has been priced reasonably at $399m which marks it $200 less than Oculus Rift and $400 less than HTC Vive, giving it another advantage as far as the pricing goes.
The PlayStation VR has been awaited since quite a long time and it will be interesting to see where the company progresses from here.
