Despite being one of the biggest forces in the world of technology, and an extremely powerful name in the markets of software technology, Microsoft has not had much luck when it comes to the world of hardware technology. The company is actually a new entrant in the world of hardware technology, and has been struggling to find feet. Their biggest adversaries are present in the mobile phone markets, which are nearly saturated. The company has now released the Windows 10 Mobile OS for some of their previous Lumia devices, in a desperate attempt to at least retain customers if not to gain new ones.
The company has been one of the most popular names when it comes to the world of technology and has been around for the past 40 years. When it comes to the hardware markets, Microsoft has been much of a late bloomer and has now come out with their latest update for their older Lumia devices, which bring the Windows 10 Mobile for the users of the following devices – Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501.
Microsoft has not released it for all devices, and they have explained this on the official Windows blog, saying –
“This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are currently running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience. “
In the past, only three Microsoft-made devices had the Windows 10 OS – the Lumia 950 (and XL), Lumia 550 and the Lumia 650.
