The 2020 Ford Bronco will be back in the game as Ford announced it at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show last January. The classic SUV is one of the four new utilities the company plans to add to their new lineup. It is expected to share the same platform with new 2019 Ford Ranger. Executive Vice President Joe Hinrichs confirmed that the 2020 Ford Bronco will be built using the same frame as the Ford Ranger.
Folks are excited about the upcoming model since the last Bronco model was built in 1996. Ford is teasing fans with a cool bucking bronco logo.
2020 Ford Bronco – Exterior and Interior
The 2020 Ford Bronco would be similar to the upcoming 2019 Ford Ranger which is a body-on-frame vehicle. It has been confirmed to be a four-door and closed version of the 2019 Ranger. The most important exterior detail was revealed by Hinrichs saying that the all-new Ford Bronco will no longer be a full-size 4×4 vehicle as it was previously known for.
Other interior and exterior details of the new 2020 Ford Bronco is yet to be revealed. But a Reddit, who claimed to be a Ford designer, said that the Rangers expected to arrive in the United States will be a four-door Super Cab and Double Cab versions of the model. The Ford Bronco model is expected to have a much-improved front and rear styling, new drivetrain options, and a new interior design. This information is in line with the announcement of Hinrichs during the Detroit Auto Show.
About the design, there is still not much substantial information known of it. But it is safe to assume that the 2020 Ford Bronco will borrow the same design as the original Bronco with two big round headlights and a bulky frame. However, it will not have the same platform as the F-150, meaning it will not have an aluminum body. Analysts expect a stripped interior almost same as the Ranger to allow buyers to customize the interior based on their preference.
2020 Ford Bronco – Engine and Performance
Based on the 2017 Ford Bronco specifications, the new 2020 Ford Bronco is expected to be offered with new drivetrain features with a small 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 petrol engine with 250 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. This is enough to run an efficient compact SUV.
Those who prefer a larger engine can opt for the installation of the 2.7-liter V6 performance versions. Furthermore, there could be a 3.2 liter inline 5 diesel engine offered in the United States making the 2020 Ford Bronco among the first few diesel-powered Ford crossovers in the country. The size of the new Bronco will be very much similar to that of Everest.
2020 Ford Bronco – Price and Release Date
The 2020 Ford Bronco will be released alongside the new 2019 Ford Ranger towards the end of 2019. Bronco fans should expect some differences with the new and old model since Ford wants to keep the design similar but with upgraded features.
As for the pricing, the price for 2020 Ford Bronco could be relatively cheaper with the price for the base model of $25,000. Expect a more minimalistic interior with this pricing, but there could be lots of optional extras and upgrades for interior and exterior designing.
